1.11.11: Meet ACROSS THE UNIVERSE
My little corner of the book world is buzzing today. ACROSS THE UNIVERSE, a YA sci-fi novel by the amazing and lovely Beth Revis, was released this morning by Penguin Teen. The site io9 will post an exclusive 111-page excerpt from the book today from 11:11 AM until 11:11 PM Eastern time.
I picked up my copy of ATU before work this morning. It's worth noting that this is the first book I've made an effort to buy on launch day since the sixth installment of the Harry Potter series.
The first thing you'll see is the pretty cover, but when you open the book, note that the cover is doubly pretty because it's EFFIN REVERSIBLE.
I'm in the middle of reading another book right now, but as soon as I'm done...
You should explore the ship Godspeed yourself on the ATU website (my favorite level is the Feeder level--there's a farm! and greenhouses! Godspeed really IS the size of a small country), but there's also a video with the author herself, where she explains the ship's levels:
