Stephen King Slams Stephanie Meyer.
I knew I still adored King for a reason.
On Twilight: I haven't read them or seen the movie, but I've seen/heard enough to know that while I might enjoy them, the writing would want to make me want to stab someone in the face. No one can really take the vampire love story in a new direction, as far as I'm concerned, and I invite my lovely FList to prove me wrong. But in this case, the vampires can go out during the day... and they sparkle. Enough said. (I mean, Mick could go out during the day in the show Moonlight, he just had to wear sunglasses... but that show was prematurely cancelled.)
I admit that they're probably decent stories--unless everyone's really really stupid, they must have SOME redeeming qualities. I may read them someday when the hype dies down a bit and I can read without feeling pressure to enjoy. But with over 60 unread books just on the shelves in my apartment, let alone the ones still in NH, Twilight and its sequels sit at the bottom of the list.
