We didn't do anything grand or spectacular for our anniversary today. We slept late, ate some breakfast, showered, dressed and headed out for a bit of shopping. We stopped by Lowe's and purchased a new shower head with both a stationary nozzle and a hose attachment. Hopefully, this will make it much easier for us to bathe Annabel. (Much gratitude to
theladyinpurple's boyfriend for the gift card, a leftover birthday present, which helped pay for our purchase.)
After Lowe's, we headed to Bed, Bath & Beyond to browse the selection of air filters. My much-used and beloved original HEPA filter in the living room appears to have finally given up the ghost. So, we very much need a replacement. Currently, we are investigating the new Sharper Image Ionic filter, but they are a bit pricey. If anyone has any suggestions or advice on this front, please send it our way.
Our next stop was Office Depot where I found my anniversary present, a new computer chair. (I purchased Jim two audio books and four pairs of pajamas for his birthday last month and our anniversary.) We didn't purchase it today, because it was raining pretty steadily by that time. However, Jim is going to stop by there on his way home tomorrow. Hopefully, this new chair will provide more adequate back support for me and cut down on the discomfort I usually feel in my shoulders, back and neck after playing on the computer for a few hours.
From there, we headed up to Hamburg to enjoy a celebratory early dinner at the Bonefish Grille. I had a marvelous raspberry martini, while Jim took a chance on a glass of Copper Ridge Chardonnay. We devoured a delectable crab cake appetizer with two sauces - one a sweet, delicious, unidentified green one; the other a hot and spicy red cocktail sauce, too fiery for my palate. We followed this course with a cool and refreshing Caesar salad and fresh baked bread dipped in a pesto paste smothered in olive oil. For the main course, we each selected one of the current menu specials, a grilled fillet of Hawaiian Red Snapper stuffed with crab meat, shrimp and scallops smothered in a lemon, caper butter sauce. This was served with a side of garlic mashed potatoes drizzled in a parsley butter sauce and steamed fresh vegetables, including zucchini, squash and tomatoes. For dessert, we chose a Macadamia nut brownie with French vanilla ice cream, fresh whipped cream and a delectable raspberry sauce.
The meal was delicious; the service was exemplary. The Bonefish Grille is rapidly becoming one of our favorite places to dine, although the prices tend to prevent us from going there except on the most special of occasions.
