Slumber Party

My daughter turned 11 a while ago and we didn't get a chance to have a party for her so yesterday she had her long awaited slumber party. There were only 6 girls here, including my daughter, but somehow it seemed like more.

They're nice kids, but they were all loud, smelly and they ate like hungry Dudleys. We went through a lot of food. They're also very messy. Yuck.

Glad that's over with. I am soooo tired. I had to stomp up the stairs at 4 bloody a.m. and tell them to be quiet and GO TO SLEEP OR ELSE! Apparently two of the girls busted open one of those glow-in-the-dark necklace thingys and were painting people as they were sleeping with the glowy stuff inside. (No doubt that's a toxic substance and they'll all sprout tentacles now.)

Last weekend I was suprised to learn that I was hosting our Thanksgiving Party so I had 25 unexpected guests. Well, I had all of Saturday to buy food, learn how to cook a turkey, and clean, clean, clean. It went well, though. Go me! Go husband who correctly calculated how long to cook the turkey for in a convection oven!

Next weekend my son is having his sleepover. Only two boys staying over. Surely that will be quieter and less stinky...

That's too many weekends of having people over in a row. I like to be alone more than that. However, at least I am having a social life. On the down side, I'm not getting marking done and I'm falling behind. I have two tests and a paper that my classes are waiting for. Argh!

I also have to comment on the weather this month. It sucks.

parties, marking
