I am just gonna sigh a few times...is that alright? Good.
*sigh*
6 week session classes are over and done with. Got a B- in IET 101, a B in PSY 315, and an A in EDCS 424. So overall a pretty good quarter so far. All I have left is EDCS 316, Ed Technology. Should be cake. I am NOT worried.
In other news, I have been spending too much of my paychecks are movies lately. When did the price of movies get so high? Seriously...I dunno man. I thought the price of the dollar in foreign markets was good. The economy has been climbing lately (thanks to the Bush Administration)...you'd think they could cut us some slack. And gas prices...damn...don't ge me started.
But back to the movies, here is a review of the past movies I have seen in recent weeks:
- Chronicles of Riddick - Vin Diesel is a badass. Plain and simple. There really isn't much more to say. I tend to not get too into sci/fi stuff. Star Wars is pretty much where I draw the line. But this movie was cool. I would definitely see it again...may even end up owning it.
- The Village - Unlike Ms. Mandy Harter, I DID enjoy this movie. Although it was not M. Night Shyamalan's best picture, I found it thoroughly enjoyable. I just wish that he didn't try to underscore the movie with so much Liberal undertones. Seriously...I get enough of that from the rest of the mass media out there. If I wanted to see a Liberal movie, I would pay and see Farenheit 9/11. But what can ya do. Good movie though.
- The Clearing - Not really my type of movie, but it had SUBERB acting from Robert Redford and Willem Dafoe. I didn't pay for it, my aunt and uncle did, so I can't really complain too much. Know what I mean?
- Spiderman 2 - Freakin' wow. I liked it. It had cool action and cool villains. The only thing I can complain about is the sappy love thing. I just wish Peter Parker would just man up and tap that fine Kirsten Dunst ass. hahaha...just playin'. But still...he loves her, then doesn't, then does, then doesn't. I thought I was watching a chick-flick part of the time. But still...I can't wait for the sequels.
- Bourne Supremecy - Oh man...I think this was my favorite movei of the summer so far. Matt Damon is so good and if you have sen the first one, it is just more of the same jaw-dropping action. The car chases in it are unreal. Seriously...watch the first one and then go see this one. You will leave the experience very, very happy.
- King Arthur - I really liked the historical accuracy of this (what little there was). I mean...the King Arthur legend IS based on a Roman general who DID live in Great Britain around 500 A.D. But as for the cool looking swords and the other stuff ( like Keira Knightly being a warrior...c'mon...get real), the movie is just a great fighting movie. I liked it. But then again, I like most movies.
- I, Robot - This movie is just another typical Will Smith, smart-ass, kick-ass movie. I thoroughly enjoyed it. But then again, I like Will Smith. And the robots were cool.
- Collateral - Tom Cruise is just plain intense in this movie. I like him in the bad guy role. I didn't really dig his gray hair though, but what can ya do. Jamie Foxx was cool too. I came into this not expecting a whole lot, but came out really, really amazed. I would recommend this to anyone. Great flick.
So those are the movies I have seen. Overall, I am happy with this summer's crop of movies so far. I am seeing Napoleon Dynamite tomorrow with Zak, and am REALLY looking forward to it. The previews make me laugh out loud and Zak said it was very funny. He saw it already and is going again. Oh oh oh...and I can't wait to see Exorcist: The Beginning. I LOOOOOOOVE the original Exorcist. It is by far the scariest movie I have ever seen. And I don't care if those naysayers among you disagree with me. You all must be turned off by how old it is or something. But on every list of scariest movies of all time I have ever read, it has been listed at #1...with good reason. Because it is SCARY!
Anyways....I am kinda tired now. It is gradually getting more and more warm in my room for some reason. We had a last few days that was very cool and wet and it felt good. But now it is starting to warm up. Grrrr...I hate the heat.
Well...I am gonna hit the sack. You all have been a great audience. Enjoy Journey!
