Yes, Virginia, there IS a Santa Claus ! :) I have been up since first light - and have YET to have any contact with my first caffeinated beverage ! I was beginning to think that the world was a very bad place, this morning. Then, while, finally, waiting for the kettle to boil, I sat down and logged on, and look what I found ! :)
I've always loved your Justin - more than the original, in fact. He's the Justin the orignal started out being. These characters have stayed so true to themselves, even as they've grown, and their lives have changed so radically. That is as much of a joy as the rest of the story.
I, also, loved the comments on Brian and a cat. It made me think of my brother. He's always had cats, as well as dogs, as I have. He loves both, dearly, but he definitely has serious personality clashes with his cats, that never arise with the dogs. His Maine Coon is definitely his match!
Thanks for a great surprise. I am so looking forward to seeing how they got to this point. Philip and Cat 'old torches, spluttering' - Inquiring minds want, no - make that NEED to know :)
The world will never be a bad place unless you allow it so to be.Take a moment and open your hand. In the end, only kindness matters.
Cael-I love it when you really remind us of what life and love is all about. And especially this season. You don't have to be religious to know what this season is really all about. And if you can do it once-you can keep doing it. Thanks for the reminder
Actually, I'm generally fairly happy with the world - except for mornings when it's 8 degrees f. outside. My wood stove has, once again, forgotten its primary purpose in life, and I get to spend two hours, outside in the cold, before having caffeine in my system :) Having this to read, while waiting for my morning fix, even if the wood stove STILL hadn't managed to kick in, made the day alright again.
Off to poke at the stove, and swear a bit - It's gradually remembering what it's supposed to do, now.
Yeah. more or less. I'm up in northeastern Vermont, near Canada. I'm about 2000 ft. above sea level, deep in the woods. So we get rather stupid weather, up here. Today, it did finally creep into the 20s, and now it's snowing.I already have several inches outside. From now on I'll probably have snow until may.
My stove is suffering from amnesia, apparently. For a few winters, now,it has had issues with burning wood, or anything else, for that matter. I'd hoped to have moved by now, so I didn't worry about it, for this winter. That'll teach me :)
It's almost working at the moment. Sort of puttering along. But, if I make the mistake of falling asleep tonight, for more than 2 hours, all bets are off ! In November, we had record cold temps. for the month, and it didn't work all that week ! I'm just hoping it remembers its raison d'etre when it's 20 or 30 BELOW, in a month ! Ah well, it gives me something to think about, I guess :) Hope your stove keeps you warm, this winter ! Hugs (they're warming) Anita.
