Quite a bit has happened over the past few weeks. Nothing of 'that' nature, but equally exciting. We moved into these trailer-style structures about a week and a half ago. That means no more tent for me. These trailers have two rooms, one on each side of a common bathroom (w/ shower). Each room holds two people. My roommate is Jim, one of the guys who I am closest to over here. On the other side of the wall is Brad and Mike. Mike was in the original group of guys that I came to Iraq with. Brad and Mike were from the same department in Wyoming. But enough of the boring details... I am just thrilled that I finally have a space that I can call my own.
It has been raining more, though at no time has it been enough to really be noticeable for more than a few minutes. A few seconds here, a minute there over several days. I can't wait for the coat and sweatshirt I ordered to make their way here. It is quite cold in the morning and evening.
I've been the DO (Driver/Operator) of Engine 902 for the past three days and will continue to be for the next two. We haven't gotten any calls while I've been driving, but we've been doing more pump training so that I feel as comfortable as I can when the time arises.
The Holy Month of Ramadan is over. Nothing (much) happened during the month, at least not here.
I hope that everyone keeps Tori and the family of Lance Cpl. Norman Anderson in your prayers and thoughts.
