1. I'll probably put the last of the Bullies posts up this weekend, since I figure there's no reason to do it before Christmas.
2. Speaking of Christmas and the Holidays, can I just say it's kind of nice not having to worry about them. Save for the one church steeple decorated with lights there are no signs of the season around town. School's a bit different with the classrooms decorated and the students singing carols, but to see anything like tinsel or a wreath outside of there I have to take the bus.
3. Speaking of taking the bus, there's been an outbreak of hoof and mouth disease in the city an hour north of us, and when you take the bus they stop at these stations where folks in hazmat suits spray the exterior with disinfectant.
4. Fritz Leiber would have been 100 years old this Friday. In August 1990 I remember going with some friends to the ChiChi's in Harvard Square (is it still there?) to celebrate HP Lovecraft's 100th birthday. We met a bunch of other folks there (including the guy who ran the SF bookshop in the Square) and spent all night talking about our D&D characters.
Do not pity me when I say this is in my top ten favorite teen memories.
