Ig Nobel Prizes
I've just been to a really interesting and frankly hysterical lecture on the side effects of sword swallowing given by the 2007 medicine Ig Nobel prize winner Brian Witcombe.

The presentation ceremony looked and sounded like a blast. Apparently they have loads of actual Nobel prize winners there and last yeat they had to eat ice cream with an extract of cow dung in it. Yum!
