Well, things have been hectic between the Xmas/New Year celebration and work (we don't have xmas holidays over here, but don't feel too sorry for me I have Chinese New Years in a few weeks), so I've pretty much been neglecting my LJ. I've liked it so far. Haven't quite got to the horror yet, but I like the atmosphere he's built and his writing style is certainly interesting.

Hope I can improve this year is my main thing, regardless of sales.

I loved The Road. My book club hated it. But it's the book we talked about most (still talk about.) It's so bleak and horrific a commentary on humanity as a whole, but strangely uplifting when taken on singular levels. I'd be curious to know what you think of it when you're finished.

No. The only thing I've read of McCarthy's is The Road. I think I can only bear reading his stuff every once in a while...like YEARS in between!

Haha, yeah probably a good call. Otherwise you might end up with horrible murder scenes sneaking into your own fiction. Easy to be influenced by what you're reading.
