(no subject)
I feel bad that I'm updating now for selfish reasons so I thought I'd preface it with an update about my life:
Work
-back at the grad school but this time doing more responsible projects.
School
-starts next week
-taking a critical theory class, a class on the body and sexuality and a class on social and ethnic issues in historic preservation
-have a paper proposal in for a conference in march
-have an article idea floating around about masculinity in 9/11 pop culture
-excited, but a little nervous about class but confident i can back in the swing of things
-this is my last semester of classes and my advisor says i should be done my first comprehensive exam by september
Boy
-jeff is super. we're working on going from seeing each other once a month to three times a week. we clash, we make up. at the end of the day i care about him muy. he is also so ridiculously hot it makes me want to die.
Friends
-been hanging out with more people since I've been back, trying to get the grad students together more so we don't all drown in our books.
-still have the urge and drive to get more meaningful friends which is hard when you're kind of too old for that whole platonic courtship like in college.
Apartment
-huge room, lots of exposed brick. full size windows which i've covered with homemade curtains. i think it's reached a place of hominess. pictures if i ever get the cord to my digital camera shipped down here.
I hope you are well. Although I've completely fallen off LJ I still keep up with yous guys, though it seems my exodus has been shared by the majority of my friends list.
