So, yeah.
All of that FE bullshit going on?

That's exactly why I am never returning to that fandom. I don't think anyone's handling it properly and people who are involved and don't know when to just let it go make me not want to be involved with anything. It actually makes me a little sick to even think I'm working on My Obligation because of ( Read more... )

I don't think anyone's handling it properly and people who are involved and don't know when to just let it go make me not want to be involved with anything. If you mean the drama I started, then I must apologize. See, the fandom for me has only been bad because of Enilas, pretty much. Everyone else has always been, for the most part, respectful of what other people prefer to write and read...so when someone steps out of line and upsets that balance, it really ruins things for a lot of people, most notably myself. I did go overboard with the whole ordeal, and I'll admit it. The fact that a few random people had to go and try and make a joke of it is just as bad, if not worse. Good came of it, if only because I was pushed to write. (Which happened the last time Enilas voiced his unwanted opinion, so I'm starting to think he secretly wants me to go back to writing more, haha ( ... )

Also, I fail to see what you working on a 'fic for FE has to do with the fandom as a whole. It was never my intention to ruin your fandom for you.

I wouldn't say it's you or people in particular, but the situation. My mind calculates that anything FE-related, eventually leads back to FE fandom. Knowing that I don't want to be a part of it, because it's relatively large, and relatively filled with many potential situations that should never exist carries over to anything else that would regard FE. I'd feel the same way if I ever did FE art. I believe that to some degree, in order to do fan work for a particular series, a part of you needs to have a fondness for the fandom. I don't. As a result, in a way, it's not really fair for me to write fanfiction for it.

Again, it's definitely not you, and I'm sorry I made it sound like that. I think I just exploded a little from seeing all of the buildup.

If it makes you feel any better, Trimurti avoids fandom like the plague, and doesn't even read 'fic for FE. She writes, but never does anything else fandom-related. I found that really interesting, actually. It's not often that a 'ficauthor does that.

A-And I need to catch up on your 'fic!

That actually does make me feel better. I went to work and thought about this all morning and was like, "Jeez. How do I--in the future--correctly convey my thoughts in a way that does not insult people?" I was actually quite a bit upset, so coming back to this certainly lifted my spirits. I needed to hear it.

As much as I may not like the fandom or the unnecessary shipping wars (as I cannot stand that in any fandom, as is the same with what is and is not 'IC'), I tend to go back and forth between thinking my writing is like a job rather than an enjoyable pastime. Honestly, I keep writing because I actually want to be able to finish something that I think is going to be epic. I want that bad, and because I do, chances are I'm going to keep going.

How far are you? :O (I bet you're like way back at 15 or something. xD)

I've never had a fondness for any fandoms really, but wow. That's incredibly rough, Mako. You really don't deserve that shit, especially from people who believes their opinion outweighs everyone else's.

It'd be more rough, I suppose, if I was actually involved in it. In a way, it's my fault for letting it affect me. In all honesty, it'd be awesome if people could just accept that everyone has an opinion, and it's better to be respectful than to shoot people down and tell them outwardly they're wrong, their opinion sucks, they're stupid.

Unfortunately, it's not realistic, and I know it.

In a way, I suppose I was just tired of hearing about it and I just needed to get all of that off of my chest. Thanks for listening! ♥♥♥♥♥
