Suicide Squad
Caught a matinee this morning, not sure why it's getting all the critical hate.
Is it the greatest movie ever made? No.
Is it a little over-reliant on music to set mood and provide character information? Yes. (But I liked all the music they picked)
Is Will Smith's take on Deadshot a pretty standard Will Smith character who just happens to shoot people for money? Sure.
But it hangs together, Jared Leto's Joker was more interesting than annoying, the supporting characters all made the most of their turns, and the audience I saw it with seemed into it.
All in all, I don't want my eight bucks back.
And given how the DCCU has gone so far, I think they can put this one down as a win.
