Everyone's sure there's no new people showing up? Because I could swear I keep hearing her trip over things. And yeah, I know... everyone else is hearing things too. But her coffee. No one could duplicate that. So where did it come from

Of course, that doesn't mean I didn't just miss something. [ He missed nothing. ]

It's just... not possible.

I've found that a great deal of impossible things have a way of happening around here.

We can try not to over-think it until a little more evidence turns up, hm? Save everyone a few headaches. [ And possibly a little heartbreak. His apartment smells like apple pie. ]

She's my second in command. I haven't gone this long without her by my side since she first got assigned to several years ago. And if she noticed I was gone I have no doubt she'd try to find me. Even here. Hm.

Aa, it doesn't sound like nothing. Your subordinates can be the most important connections you make- especially if she would be loyal enough to search for you in a place like this.

She sounds like a very admirable ally to have.

The best. I wouldn't trust anyone else to try to make it through the Grand Line with me.

Trust is a necessity in the long term, of course~

Quite.

It's a dangerous place. Well. [Derisive snort.] Supposedly it is. So far the only part that's been that dangerous are the shichibukai who are supposed to be marine allies and fighting the strongest man in the world. But the New World is supposed to be impossible and that's where we're going next.

And fighting the strongest man in the world was, of course, a breeze. [ He kids, he kids. ] When you say that these shichibukai are supposed to be marine allies, do you mean they're really not?

Impossible is a term more open to interpretation than anything, I think. But then again, I've been told I'm quite the optimist.

I didn't have to fight him personally. Tashigi and I were dealing with his pirates and Straw-Hat and Boa Hancock. [Mutters VERY darkly something that might sound suspiciously like "that bitch."]

There's only one man who's made it to the end and back out and millions have tried. Impossible is as close a word as exists to explain those odds of survival.

Aa, I guess it does need something better than "very unlikely."

It was strange. Towards the end it got twisted. Justice was off.

Indeed. And "it's only been done once in the history of the world of everyone who has ever tried and thanks to that it's only gotten harder since then," is a mouthful.

Justice has a habit of getting warped.

And it still doesn't fully cover the scope. Heh.

I think we'd all like to hope that. If it just weren't up to so many people.

I don't know if it's the number so much as quality.

But even if someone's led wrong, people doing it right can still change the course.
