Dear Yuletide writer,
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEE YOU ARE WRITING ME A THING! *runs around in circles flailing wildly* :D
I always enjoy reading cracky plot suggestions in other people's letters (the "this! or this! or maybe this!" sort), so there are some of those under the cut. Before that, though, you probably want to know some things about me:
* I like genfic with strong friendships in it, best of All The Things. Sex bores me. :S
* I like happy endings and stories about characters having fun. I can't read much whump or heavy angst due to health issues, but suspense is fine.
* I especially like: slice-of-life, plotty adventure fic, AUs (both fork-in-the-road and the "o hai, wez all lolcats nao" type), crossovers, reasonably in-character cuddlefic, domesticity!fic, loyal nonsexual partner!fic, unusual friendships, and anything where a character has fun playing with little kids. Including the subgenre where one character is turned into a little kid and another has to take care of them. ♥
* I don't like: character embarrassment / humiliation, most non-canon 'ships, bullying. Abusive / manipulative authority figures trigger me.
Aaaand... I think that's it! On to the fandoms! :-)
X-Wing: Rogue Squadron (book series) by Aaron Allston and Michael Stackpole; any
My prompt is thus:
* I prefer Allston's books over Stackpole's. Because they are goofy, uplifting, and (IMO) better-written. Also, awesome ladies and non-humanoids!
* I'd much rather have gen friendship fic than slash/relationship fic. (...I am easily bored by sex and UST. So you know. *wry face*) I do love "committed nonsexual partners" fic, though. Wingmate!fic! XD
* Beyond that, ANYTHING GOES! I specially like: team shenanigans, slice-of-life, plotty adventure fic, loyal friends, unusual friendships, smart people being smart, and Wes Janson in all his multifaceted weirdness. XD
* But I didn't specify Wes, because ANYTHING AT ALL IN THIS FANDOM WOULD BE FANTABULAWESOME. Thank you. :-)
Canon length: Nine medium-short books. If you're familiar enough with the Luke trilogy of Star Wars to know who Wedge Antilles is and what a Gamorrean is, you could probably get away with reading only the Allston-authored four (Wraith Squadron, Iron Fist, Solo Command, and Starfighters of Adumar) for this assignment. :-)

* YAY EVERYBODY. Portia! Julian! Foster and Davey! Aunt Minnehaha and Baby-Belle! Uncle Pin! (Who is played in my head by René Auberjonois circa 2002. /highly random) Even Mrs Brace-Gideon!
* My favorite thing about Elizabeth Enright's work is how nothing *airquotes* "important" happens but it's Plotty Adventure Fic anyway. Just "hey y'all, SUMMER IN THE COUNTRY IS AWESOME" adventure fic. So what I think would like best is a missing-scene-type story (any era). But I would also love to be proven wrong! XD Maybe what I really want is, um, the POV of the cast-iron pug dog! *waves hands wildly*
Canon length: Two books, "Gone-Away Lake" and "Return to Gone-Away". A quick read, also awesome. XD
Other stuff:
I had to cut so many story suggestions out of this prompt. Fall/winter at Amberside! An adventure with Foster and Davey! Tarrigo-era Pindar+Minnehaha fic! (They really don't seem to interact very much in the canon, especially as kids - it's fairly gender-segregated. Which one is older, even?) The cats! The red-and-gold piano: did anyone ever actually put jukebox innards in it? What are some other adventures the kids (past or present) had that I'm not thinking of? ANYTHING GOES - heck, if you want to throw in a time-travel accident and have, oh, Portia and Lucy meet young!Minnehaha and Baby-Belle et al, go for it! XD

* You don't have to use all four characters. (Although it would be cool if you did. XD)

One of my favorite things about Yuletide is the utter cracktasticity produced by people writing fandoms with no canon, so don't worry about any of my preferences for this one. Use 'em if you like; cross this over with any (or all!) of my other fandoms if you want; if not, just write whatever the heck you were planning to write when you signed up for this absurd piece of Yulecrack, and I shall be gleeful to have been a part of it. For I am sure it will be AMAZING.
Canon: None. It was a bit of goofiness in the nominations post that got nominated for the heck of it. Do what you will! XD
