Of course he didn't care for it. No one did.

But he was lucky that Sherlock remembered the day and so kindly texted him upon his arrival.

I need a towel. Bring one on your way in.

And John didn't check his phone again until he'd made it past customs with his luggage--

... then he stopped, and frowned.

The hotel has towels.

Which as all well and good, but...

The staff seems to avoid me.
SH

WONDER WHY.

There was a short pause. God, John had missed this kind of insanity in his life.

Be nicer?
John

He patted his suitcase, then eyed it. He had packed extra towels...

If John couldn't tell Sherlock was rolling his eyes at that from all the way on the island... he clearly didn't know Sherlock well enough.

Towels.

John sighed.

He also still found the insanity fairly aggravating.

He decided to ignore the text and waved over a taxi instead, a process that took him rather more time than he'd expected.

And off he rode, until he was standing on the Fandom causeway.

There better be milk.

...right. The milk.

Of course there is.
SH

Possibly gone bad by now.

I'm at the causeway.
John

A pause.

It's... vast.

Just step through. You need to put a stop to your romantic sensibilities.

Will you at least tell me where the bloody hotel is, Sherlock?

Left.

Really, John. Really.

Left.

John looked up from his phone, saw mountains-- (well, hills) and. All right then. Left.

He set off for the hotel, passed through the hall mostly unnoticed, and finally wound up at the door of their room...s.

He knocked.

Yes, rooms plural. One room was hardly enough for all of Sherlock's things.

There was no answer, of course.

He rapped on the door again.

"Sherlock," he called, "I know you might be stuck in a very involving conversation with yourself right now, but would you mind getting the door?"

It was a few minutes after that when the door was opened and Sherlock gave him a mildly disconcerted look. "You're late."

"Well, you didn't open the door," John said, annoyed.
