Virginia had been practically ecstatic when Gabriel asked if he could borrow the car to go the dance. And so far, it had totally been worth it. She was wearing the perfect dress, and her hair was curled and pulled back into a loose, gorgeous ponytail (Elle thanked god for good hair days), and Gabriel was wearing jeans. Gabriel's arms were wrapped around Elle's waste and he pulled her in closer now. He leaned in to whisper back into her ear. "Fair enough, because I want to take that dress off of you later too."

Finally he pulled away from the kiss, his thumb brushing against her lips in an affectionate manner. None of the rest of it mattered. Just her.

And there was Sandy, with an empty glass of punch. "Oopsies. That'll stain. Guess I need more punch." Jeremy and his buddies were laughing at the table behind her like a pack of hyenas.
Elle could feel the electricity humming, nearly burning beneath her skin. How long had it been? She didn't even know anymore. She just wanted Sandy dead. "You did that on purpose," she hissed.

He took a deep breath, releasing Sandy after a moment, watching as the girl's eyes filled with tears. He was glad. He turned back to Elle, his expression softening. "Let's get you to the bathroom and see if we can spot some of it out before it stains."

She nodded at Gabriel, sobering at his gentle expression, her eyes still gleaming at Sandy as they passed the girl and headed out of the gym to the bathrooms. "Thanks," she whispered as they passed the doors. Elle carefully embraced him around the waist as they walked.
