It wasn't until later that night that he pushed himself out of Elle's bed, offering his hand to her. He hadn't been able to sleep at all, for a variety of reasons, but it was probably for the best. After all, the more time they let pass, the harder killing Angela was going to be ( Read more... )

She pulled on her sneakers and smiled at his expression with affection. A little rest had gone a long way (she'd drifted off for a little while gratefully) and now the anxiousness she felt was overpowered by dark excitement.

The Haitian. She thought about his arms holding her back, his power stifling hers, only now instead of fear and panic... she felt anticipation.

"Yes," she whispered, and slipped into the hallway.

He quietly followed her out into the hallway, letting Elle take the lead. After all, she knew her way around the place much better than he did. It's not like they let him roam the halls freely or anything.

She knew where the Haitian usually slept--a ways off, nearer to the cells than most of the agents. It was a small room, nearly a closet, and was always locked whether he was inside or not.

Not that it mattered tonight.

She stopped at the door and cocked her head at the knob, gesturing to Gabriel to unlock it.

He smirked and carefully used his telekinesis to unlock and open the door as quietly as possible. Normally, he liked to make a big show of things, but the last thing he wanted to do right now was wake the Haitian up.

That would ruin everything.

Elle squeezed in, padding softly across the floor, allowing herself a small smile as the Haitian prone form lumped under the covers.

Sleeping and completely helpless. Perfect.

Gabriel smirked, following her inside of the small room. He stood at her side, looking down at the sleeping figure. "Allow me," He whispered softly. He raised his fingers, starting the incision into the man's forehead.

She grabbed his shirt over his hip, but it was only out of cruel excitement as the Haitian's eyes snapped open. Viciously she lifted her hand to shock him, filling him with a never-ending current that would blind out all of his thoughts.

And hurt. A lot.

Gabriel's expression darkened considerably as she fried the Haitian to a crisp.

"You ruined him," He hissed harshly.

So much for getting that wonderful power.

She dropped her hand, smiling in satisfaction and wrinkling her nose at the smell of burnt flesh. "Ew," she intoned on a little giggle, and looked over towards Gabriel. "You killed my dad," she retorted with a grim smirk.

"So what, you're going to try to prevent me from any new powers now?" He asked, unable to hide the annoyance in his tone. This was two in a row now.

"No," she said, pouting innocently up at him and shaking her head. Although actually, she supposed, she was punishing him. "He held me back and repressed my ability when he could have stopped you. He was mine," she claimed fiercely.

"You could have given me some warning, like you did with Angela," He hissed in annoyance. He couldn't help it. That would have been a really nice one to have.

Not to mention a way to prevent Elle from shocking him every time she got pissed at him. It would have had alot of uses.

"Yeah, but I didn't, so deal with it," she snapped saucily back. "Plus you probably would have used his stupid mumbo-jumbo on me, and no thank you," she added with a roll of her eyes.

He already had control issues.

How did she know he had just been thinking about that?

"You're lucky I love you too much to kill you," He muttered darkly under his breath.

It wasn't like his control issues were a secret, and the idea of him weilding that sort of power honestly scared Elle half to death. She didn't like it when the Haitian did it; she'd like it even less if he did.

"Ditto," she quipped, and reached up on her tip-toes to peck his cheek, half-mockingly and half-lovingly.

Probably best he didn't have such a power, because it was without a doubt that he would abuse it.

He leaned in to press a brief kiss to her lips. "Shall we move on to go after my would be mother?"
