[Sob he really doesn't want to outright lie.......but he pauses, trying to regroup and still focus on Penny, and not the fact that the curse does not make father's meaner as far as he knows and all the terrible things Arthur is saying to him he would ordinarily say anyway, without prompting...or amplification of a curse...]
