"The Lord works in mysterious ways." I know it's not a very satisfying response, but it's true. God is omniscient. He knows everything about everyone; He knows what is to come. He sees the universe in ways we never will. It follows, then, that He has reasons for doing things that we cannot comprehend.

Even scripture can involve cop-outs. Recently, that's one of the more glaring ones to me.
