Yet another flaw in education...
Liz Mensching and I are hoping to drop venture next year, because we want to take artsy electives (me-theatre her-art) and we'd like to take speech to get some more college credit; venture just doesn't fit in the schedule. Well, next year is the venture year where you get the World History credit, so...if we dropped venture next year, then we'd have to take world history at least one semester. If we didn't take either, then we'd get basic high school diplomas. It wouldn't matter that I will have taken Chemistry AP, two years of Spanish AP, and Calculus AP...nope - basic diploma for me. Just because the words "World History" don't appear on my transcript..
I really wouldn't mind staying in venture, except Shaw is thinking about going to New York City next year. If this is the case, then theatre will go on a joint trip with them. I refuse to go to NYC with venture...I will go with theatre. If Venture doesn't go to NY, then I'll just stay in it next year and take speech at Ivy over the summer. Yeah, it'll kind of suck, but oh well..
I'm hoping to find out where venture is going within the week. If he finalizes NY, then Liz and I are dropping the class this semester to take World History. Juniors in World History. Gross. But it'll be worth it. Either way, I'm going to get what I want. :o)
In other, more positive news...I love the YMCA. Cross-trainers are bloody amazing.
It took me no time at all to do a chemistry problem, and I'm thinking about doing some extra...just because. :o)
I love espanol. When I do the work, I'm really not that bad. I learn a lot. Imagine that...
AAAAAAAAND BACK TO REAL LIFE.
