So it finally feels as though spring has arrived. FINALLY!
Not much has been going on. I've been doing very well in school so far this semester, suprising because I really thought this semester would kick my ass. But I don't want to jinx myself or anything, especially since my third anatomy exam is Tuesday and I really need to start studying for that (yeah, i'm slacking off a bit).
I really need to find a job for this summer. I'm taking a summer class since I'll be up here at CMU all summer anyways, so that goes from May 12-30. The class is every day, MTWThF from 1-4 so after that is over with, I figure I need to find a job and have money. Also, I was really looking into a volunteer position for the summer, maybe just volunteering at a nursing home or something. Something to make my resume look better when applying for graduate school.
Does anyone know what volunteers at nursing homes do??
Anyways, I'm really excited for May 11. That's move-in day for the apartment and then I'll finally, really, be on my own! I'm sooo excited. This is like, my next big step until graduate school in two years (where ever I decide to go for that). Speaking of that, I've really begun to look out of state for graduate school. Ohio, North Carolina, and South Carolina are on my list right now. But if I do get accepted to CMU's grad. school then obviously I will stay here.
Well, I've been really hesitant to talk about this since last year and everything, but I've been slowly changing my health habits. During my surgery in Feb., the doctor found some scary stuff on my liver and said the only way to fix it is with diet and exercise to prevent it from getting worse. So far I've lost about 15 pounds since February. I've kind of plateaued (sp?) a bit the past couple of weeks, but I'm seeing my doctor again in May. It was really scary at first when the doctor told me my results of my surgery and I know I never really want to have a feeling like that ever again, so I've been changing myself. This has just been a new part of me and like I said, I've been really hesitant to discuss it with anyone besides my family, but I just really needed to get it off of my mind.
The coolest thing is the North Face jacket I got for christmas is starting to get big on me!
On a lighter note, school is done in four weeks. That's kind of scary considering I still have so much left to do, but it's exciting to know sophomore year has almost ended. It seems like sophomore and junior year are the ones that take the longest (at least it seemed that way in high school).
I'll be coming home April 29 and staying until May 11 (move-in day). If anyone would like to get together and hang out, let me know (since this is probably my last post until the end of school)!
