This is a long overdue journal entry.
So this is the story of the ORCHESTRA/BAND trip to Disneyland. It starts in a land far, far, away...the happiest place on earth. Actually it started here in Portland....but let's skip to L.A. Our first stop was Universal Studios (after a clinic for the orchestra, but who went down there to play music?)
Pic Luckily, we were joined by Kento that day... Ah Kento, how we all love thee. Geoff is looking awkward as always :P We rode on many a ride, including Jurassic Park (about 5 times) and the Mummy coaster, which was pretty cool. But of course, that is nothing compared to DISNEYLAND! So we had a concert in the morning at Disneyland, and yada yada, it was fun. Kaya, Menolly and I went on a kiddie coaster twice in a row cuz no one was in the park yet! And we got this really cool pic with Goofy and Donald:
Pic Notice our Asian tourist expressions. Except for Kaya because she's such a nonconformist. *sticks out tongue* Then we rode on Space Mountain, which was the most FANTASMIC coaster I've ever ridden on in my life. The music was pretty awesome too. Then it was time for LUNCH!
Pic Kaya fat-assing (it's totally a verb)
Pic Menolly fatassing
Pic And me just eating. (I don't fat-ass...:P) But we all dug into this wonderful mountain of sugar and fried dough:
Pic Mmmm sugar... Then we saw this nifty little Hillbilly group which was pretty fun. They made some Crisco (Country and Disco) and it was pretty cool. They also mentioned mixing Country and Rap but that apparently didn't turn out so well. (For the slow - Think about it a moment. Think...think....there ya go, now wasn't that just hilarious? You betcha). After taking in innumberable calories, we headed off to the Indiana Jones ride, which was pretty awesome. I even tried on this cool headress...
Pic I'm SO CUTE...yea. Onto an actual cute picture:
Pic Mmmhm, this my shit. But you can't forget the girls!
Pic Cute Kaya...cute. We also went on the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Matterhorn. But by far, the absolute best part of Disneyland was taking pictures with the Disney characters. First up, is the Evil Queen from Snow White
Pic We were totally raising our eyebrows, you just can't tell. Next came Belle:
Pic We were striving for an overly excited look. But apparently that means be creepy to Kaya...you're such a creeper! Then along came Snow White with the whiniest voice in the world. It was very high and very soft...and oh so painful to the ear.
Pic Don't you just LOVE the modeling pose? Next comes the classic:
Pic We were going to do a pose, but then Cinderella said smile. So we did. Because you cannot disobey the princesses. Otherwise Mickey with the sniper rifle will get you. Hey, that's life. In all, those three pictures took us a good...hour and a half. Yea, that's how ridiculous the lines were for taking pictures! That and their page wide signatures. At least Kaya got a pretty pretty princess pen out of the deal. I should have bought one of those. Sidenote: randomly saw one of my good friends from YMA Heather. Who yelled and screamed her way to me. That was fun.
Pic Of course a trip to Disneyland would not be complete without a Peter Pan Magical Flight on a flying boat.
Pic It's hella cool. Like hells yeah. We also watched Fantasmic, which was a show that they put on. That was amazing too. It was fantasmic (as in fantasy + orgasmic = fantasmic). MMhm.. Oh, on the way back that night, we passed a sign that had brawny on it (they're sponsors or something). This is our version of being brawny
Pic Look at dem muscles. Somehow Menolly managed to look like she was getting raped or something...I don't know how. (Notice the cut off Brawny sign at the top) The next day was spent at California adventure, which was pretty amazing. Here they are on the Tower of Terror:
Pic And then here's us being really cheap and not actually buying the ride photo
Pic I was elsewhere during this time. But they had fun. Then we rode the roller coaster and then we came home. And that was the end of the trip to Disneyland. I'll go back in another...4 or 5 years. It's really quite overstimulating. Don't forget to be a scene kid:
Pic The End
