That I have a driver's license is completely unreasonable. In order to get such a license to operate such a dangerous machine all I had to do was present my learner's permit, my Driver's Ed. form, a TEA form, and five dollars. To get the learner's permit, I passed a multiple-guess test on a computer. To get the Driver's Ed. form, I had to doodle on my folder and drive around for brief periods of time with Coach Jones. I did not drive for six hours or eight hours or whatever the arbitrary requirement is because we spent a good amount of time washing the car, going to HEB, stopping at various gas stations, and coming back early. The TEA form was free, and I just had to show up to school most of the time. I wish that I could have kept the fiver, but for this "independence" I suppose that it's a price I can pay. Besides that, I took an eye test and nodded when they asked if I still lived on Summerset. I didn't have to show any form of photo ID, which seemed fishy to me.

In any case, the Texas DPS has granted me permission to use their roadways, unsupervised.
Now if I can just learn to drive.
