Just signed a petition to reopen prop 8. This was the one thing that ruined my election buzz. Damn it I have a wedding to go to in 2010....if I am invited.

No, I'm sorry. awesome friends of Nici's that I dig and totally get along with are soooo not invited ;)

It really renews my faith in my friends to read things like this. As much as it's a fight for equality, it seems like the opinion of people fighting for rights concerning themselves are somehow less "important" because they're ours (which makes no sense being that it's about EQUAL rights). But beyond that having people's support that the law doesn't directly effect makes a huge difference in changing people's minds that are on the outside by giving them someone to identify with.

Which is a really long winded way of saying...sweet. You rock.

But it does directly effect me, discrimination and injustice effects everyone and even if I didn't have gay and lesbian friends(please, what are the odds of that?) I would still believe it is wrong to take away someone's rights and treat them differently in the eyes of the law than someone else. It's not a social issue it's a justice issue.
