Want some help?

(ooc; I'm assuming here that Cameron and Beckett talked about Cameron taking over in case of Beckett's absence (Beckett-mun agreed to this), so Cameron'll be easing herself into the role until Beckett's post and only then making an IC statement about it.)

[.......pause. This one seems like it's a trap somehow.] Sort of....stuff with the laws, an' higher up lawyer stuff. Not paperwork.

Case briefs don't write themselves, and bringing a case before court requires some filled-out forms as well. Just to name a few examples.

You don't 'ave someone t' do that for you?

Back when I worked in private practise I had a secretary and paralegals for that, but a prosecutor's office is understaffed and overworked, not much unlike the police force here. Besides, I like controlling what it says in my briefs and how it's said, and paperwork is a good way to review all the facts and see possible shortcomings or lines or argumentation.

Blimey, alright. If y'want t'come an' help, ma'am, y'can, only I do 'ave two of me mates comin' in to 'elp me, now.

In that case, have fun and let me know how it went, or if it gets too much for three; then I'll still come and lend a hand.

Um. Fun. Yeah. [Oh, right, being respectful.] Cheers, ma'am.
