27Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
James 1:27
Alot of people talk to me about my little brother and sisters. and man, I love them so much. I had read all these things about God bringing about blessings to families who care for widows and orphans... but man I had no idea. I guess i had a worldly mindset, I had assumed that He would bless us in areas like finances, etc. But it has been completely flooring to experience these blessings. It is not so much of blessings because of the kids, but it is being blessed BY the kids that I have loved the most. Everything they do is so amazing to me, and I love them more and more every second. It has been such a blessing experiencing these kids! Taking them to the park, special trips for each kid where they get to do errands with me, riding bikes, wrestling, playing video games, watching kiddie movies, praying before bedtime and meals, helping them brush their teeth, picking out their outfits... everything! I love all of it. I love being a big sister for the first time. times three. This week, we all laid in bed one morning and the kids were fighting over who got to lay next to who. You know? Where you would crawl in bed with your parents when you were little, and always want to be the one between mom AND dad. I love that! This was a really rough semester... and God totally used the kids to help bring me through. Had to walk the rocks to see the mountain view, but I had three amazing children with me throughout the whole thing. It is so amazing to watch them experience things for the first time. Gerry asked my mom if daddy was older than God. I mean really, how much cuter can you get? And I basically melt when Leslie crawls into my lap and asks me to hold her, then tells me "candice im your girl". Cryfest, USA. And everytime Karina calls me "young lady"! Man. That will pretty much make me smile no matter what to have my 4 year old sister call me young lady. These kids are the most wonderful blessing God could ever give someone! Praise God for blessings.
