recently, strange occurances
Today, a man in front of me at the college was at the registration desk. He informed everyone that he had recently, very recently, just yesterday even, very recently retired from the postal service, and was looking for a new career. The advisor set him up on a computer to register and choose classes, and he had talked for so long that this had already taken about ten minutes just to get him to move to the computer. The appearance of this man was very interesting. Homemade looking moccasins, a lot of turqouise jewelry, large feather earrings, etc. Very Native American. He proceeded to explain that he CAN'T register for classes yet, because he recently was initiated as some sor tof... chief over all tribes of Texas. Or something. Apparently, the "insert long indian namesssss", which are a sect of Cherokee Indians, is what kind of Indian he is. And these Cherokee Indians have been in what is now known as Texas for over 400 years, and the government has yet to recognize that. He needed to work his schedule out around these Native American tribal meetings. He also asked if there were any available discounts at the college for veterans, such as himself. I think the strangest part about this was that he was an older white man. Very white.
Another strange, but very awful thing, from the news. A woman got very mad at her boyfriend and wanted to beat him up, so she used what was closest to her to hurt him. What happened to be closest was her 4 week old child. Wow. Some people. Make me very angry.
I also heard that some boy from Texas State got alcohol poisoning after being drunk consecutively for over a month. Whattttt??????????
Anything else strange? Let me think. My car broke down on Sunday! Under the freeway at Louedda. My dad got it working and it died again at Spring Cypress and 249, like one exit up. Boooo for cars. We got it working again after it was towed home, where it died again only leaving me enough time to roll up my windows before it rained. So I am without car.
I'm sitting outside at school and there is a rat like 3 feet away from me!!! Strange.
But besides all of those things that I've seen or heard lately, I really am just very very busy. It feels that way. I miss my brother.
