Hi, I was looking a the Carleton friends page and saw your post. I think if you showed Carleton you really wanted to go they'll be inclined to accept you. My stats weren't so great but I basically was like "I'm obsessed with yall!" You seem like you have a lot extra currics and stuff. If you're interested I was in the top 15.21% 1990 SAT 3.98 weighted [our valedictorian has like a 4.6], nothing extraordinary.. Sorry if this post um.. what's the word.. unwarranted or makes you feel funny but! I just wanted to maybe give you a little peace of mind?

In short, sorry I'm creepy!

It's not creepy, don't worry. I'm not sure how I could convince them of how I feel now, though, the admissions decision is probably already made.

My school doesn't rank, but I have an 85/100 average, and the top 30% has at least a 90. People here think a 93 is just okay. My SAT is 1280/1980. I hate how everything comes down to numbers, I look shitty on paper but I love a lot of my classes and have rollercoaster grades- 90s in english and history and 70s and 80s in sciences and math. It sucks. Maybe the rest of my app can make up for it, but unfortunately, I don't think so.

Did you apply ED this year? I didn't think you'd already be a student because your SAT is on the new scale. Every day I regret not applying ED, but I didn't think I'd get any aid from ANY schools, and now I found out my EFC is $19k so I wish I had. Nothing I can do now, though.

Hopefully we'll both be in Minnesota in the fall...

Yeah, I applied ED2. I've heard that they're the LAC that puts the least emphasis on numbers and more on personality and such. But yeah, my numbers were pretty crappy but one of my big points with them is that I like to learn and I think I can do it well there.

Also! As far as unweighted GPAs go I probably have like a 3.1 [low B] because I a lot of C's in eighth grade classes [IPC, Journalism..].

But yeah, decisions are probably already made but goodluck admissions are all pretty random! Also! I think we have some of the same interests [I pretty much watched Brat Camp for a week straight after getting my wisdom teeth out]
