Oh hi, internet! It's been a bit.
Some of you might wonder what has been happening in my corner of a round planet. I wish I had something eventful or emotional or amazing to say.
But I don't. And it's nice.
I have taken a hiatus from restaurant work, and I'm currently renovating houses for fun and profit. The pressure is little to none, and the money is better. It's been fun doing gritty man work, but it will probably wane with the advent of college.
Oh! I got accepted to UNO. Waiting to hear about scholarships and financial aid stuff. Bring it on, psychology dept. I'll get my undergrad there, then on to Tulane for my masters. I guess this counts as something eventful.
Wow. Another eventful thing. My old friend Daniel from Asheville is coming to stay with me for a couple/few weeks. He's passing through on a whirlwind tour of the southeast before heading westward. I saw him one night during evacuvacation, and I hadn't heard from him again until the other day. Daniel and I share a friendship that teeters between dorky music appreciation and psychotic alcoholism. Look out, New Orleans.
I'm happy for you.
I'm pretty happy for me too! Red wine, good friends, unplanned dinner events, comfortable beds, new perfumes, striking similarities, pointless crushes, unrepentant flirting, and movies movies movies. That's about it, folks.

or the retro image I see so often telling me to
keep trying maybe you'll get here someday
keep up the working, ok
I close the book on them right there
I see myself change as the days change over
