I frequently forget that New Orleans has such a special place in my heart. The above video talks about how our culture -- where you grew up, which school you went to, family connections -- how important those things are to the generations that call this place home. It's a pretty close-knit city that's never been very big (especially after The Storm). This is a very, very special place. It isn't a bustling metropolis; it isn't an economic stronghold; and we have some pretty crappy government officials and a sky high crime rate. But, I swear y'all, something is in the air. Our world changed forever in 2005, and it's important that people from elsewhere understand that. There wasn't just a flood -- that flood tore apart families, friends, neighbors, and traditions.
