I've seen other artists do this and I know my situation is different, but I thought I'd throw this out here just in case.
I really enjoy photography as a hobby and I would love to do it as something more. For now, I share my passion with all of you here and thank you so much for your support and kind words. It makes me feel good to know that you enjoy seeing my work and your comments make me want to go out there and take a million photos. I put my patience to the test trying to get the best photos I possibly can and put a lot of time into this between shooting and editing. I'm putting up a "tip jar" of sorts here on LJ, so that if you'd like to support the work I put into this and my sharing it here online or if you use my photos as reference (which you are always welcome to do so long as credit is given when necessary) and would like to leave a buck or two, you can "donate" or leave a tip.
Just keep in mind this is not obligatory. To quote thornwolf, it's "more like when you go to the Museum of Natural History you can pay an optional donation to help the museum curators run things behind the scenes and continue to bring you what you came to see." In this case, I'll be trying to use any tips towards admission to other zoos around the area so that I can shoot photos of new animals!
