A fine beginning to a weekend: big birthday parties!

Recovering nicely from teh sick. Coughing significantly reduced. Wheezing almost gone. Still have that nasty annoying tickle in my throat when I actually breathe over half my lung capacity. But fatigue is largely gone, too. Well, I'm fatigued, but that's because it's been a crazy-busy weekend so far.

Birfday party for nhudris_embrace on Friday. Spaghetti Factory. Food was a great deal, and the company was magnificent. Got to hang out with old friends, new friends, and folks I hadn't seen in a while: very nice. Sure, by the end of it I was loopy enough that I was wishing jescot a happy birthday instead of nhudris_embrace, but I have good excuses. I didn't even have to pull out my classic "I was platinum blond growing up": I really was sick and pretty fatigued. So it all worked out. A fine time.

Saturday afternoon was the monthly Hellenion libation. Small crowd, as usual. mtn_hermit was able to make it again this month, so had a nice chat with him. Turns out his office is not so far from mine, so we'll likely be planning lunch together sometime for good chats. Quick lunch afterward at Blendy's because we all had things to do.

For me, that meant going home and taking a nap. While I'm not feeling too fatigued now, yesterday was another story, and I'd been moving all day by then. So I came home and pretty much crashed for two hours.

Then it was preparations for blyssmouse's birfday party. Not really a ton of preparations: I don't have much in the way of costumes. Still, I did shave, which I hadn't done in... well... quite a while. radiantbaby and I were a little late, but then we expected to be, between afternoon stuff and sicktime-recovery. We got there just in time to see and socialize a bit with the people who were there with kids before kids and guardians were shuffled out the door. It was a fine arrangement, actually.

The party was a very fun time. It was an excellent mix of personalities. Friends ranging from everyday types through others I've only recently met, to yet others I haven't seen in far too long. All of them folks I would always like to see more of. There was active and not-so-active -- the latter comprising the bulk of my fare for the night. Without divulging too much in a public post (and I don't make private posts), it was a very pleasant evening all around, with far more good stuff than should really justifiably fit in a single night's entertainment.

And in it all, I seem to be finding myself getting closer to someone who is simultaneously unexpected and yet not too unexpected at all. Hrm.

So after the chunk of rest that's led us to the present time, the schedule for the day looks like a combination of cleaning and bills followed by relaxing on the couch with radiantbaby for some well-earned brainrotting television. Whee!
