OK, so I've been *really* lax on posting. I'll try and keep it to highlights so I don't spam you folks too bad.
Thursday night Mad Mad House at
myndsweep's was fun. The show is pretty laughable, actually, but it's a convenient excuse to hang out with friends until way too late. A contingent of us stayed not only through MMH but also through two episodes of Tripping the Rift. Afterward I stayed outside chatting with
radiantbaby for quite some time. Topics ranged wildly; I hardly even remember where all it went. I quite enjoyed the chat, even if it did keep me out *way* past my bedtime.
Friday PPN was nice as well. It started out a mild spring evening, and we moved onto the porch at Taco Mac by the River as our early inside table quickly grew too crowded. As the night grew later, though, the temperature started dropping. By the time most of the crowd had left it was getting rather chilly. When
radiantbaby and I were left alone at the end, we decided to drop by a nearby Waffle House for a cheap midnight snack and some warmth. It was very late but very enjoyable night.
Saturday I woke up early enough to make it to the bank for more cash before their lobby closed. I wandered around town looking for a particular birthday present for
randiantbaby's party, but I was unfortunately unable to find it. I came by a little early with only the Doritos I had promised to bring for snacks. The extra hands were quite appreciated: there was still a bit of tidying up to finish. We even had a few minutes to relax on the couch before guests started arriving. And arrive they did. We took a mental tally from memory after the party and figure we had about 20 people squeezed into
radiantbaby's little apartment. A good time was had by all, and not one to break a pleasant habit I stayed late. Very late. There was some chatting, but not as much as previous evenings.
Sunday
radiantbaby was visiting her parents for Easter dinner; she invited me along for company. It was quite pleasant: they seem like genuinely good people, and comfortably closer than I'm used to seeing families being. We listened to Mozart's Requiem on the long trip across town to get there, and the White Stripes filled the trip back. When we arrived late back at
radiantbaby's I hung around for a bit watching a little TV and chatting. And true to form, I got to bed much too late.
Work Monday wasn't too bad. I was tired, needless to say, and halfway through the day my boss turned on a dime yet again to switched me from one mission-critical project to yet another. I've gotten to the point that I don't care, though, really: I've got an interview at CipherTrust scheduled for Thursday morning, and I fully intend to leave a very strong impression. SecureWorks is a good company that *will* succeed at business, but I just can't work effectively under the erratic flailings of the development manager. If CipherTrust doesn't work out I'm considering switching to another department within SecureWorks. We'll see what happens.
Monday night at Town Center BorderPagans went well also. The topic was handfastings. It's not a topic that particularly interests me, but it was a convenient excuse to be social. I was intending to go home and get some sleep afterward, but I was suckered into joining the crowd at TGIFriday's, and once there I of course ended up closing them out. It was another late night.
And that brings us to Tuesday today. It's hard to be excited about work with yesterday's switch to yet another ill-defined project. Especially combined with my general fatigue. Especially with the overwhelming contentedness from the weekend. Especially with the White Stripes playing in my headphones all day. Especially looking forward to my date tomorrow evening. Especially with an interview waiting to get me out of here Thursday morning. Especially with a long weekend of
InterzOne fun lurking later in the week. Life's too good. I expect to break a habit and get some good sleep tonight after work.
So in summary, it's been a pleasant whirlwind weekend.
