*It's just a short trip, to see if the sea breeze is blowing, since it was practically a sauna back in the Prison. Stepping onto the sand, sleeves of his unbuttoned shirt rolled up, Light takes notice of the woman, giving her a brief nod of acknowledgement. Being a Warden meant that he was watched practically all the time, and he'd learned to regulate his pleasant, charming outward demeanor to properly quiet all the naysayers.*

You, there.

[Her voice seems parched, and so she shuts her mouth, then repeats it smoother, struggling up out of the wet sand, the rushing in of a shallow wave only contributing to her bedraggled state, the long green hair hanging heavy, the sand on the white piloting suit.]

*He glances over casually, before stepping a little closer, just a little. One can't really be too careful in the City, after all*

Yes?

[She hauls herself up, standing, dragging her wet hair from her face, wiping sand disdainfully from her body and wet clothes.]

What island is this?

You're in the City, Miss. It's not any particular island. *he hands her a neatly folded, clean handkerchief*

It's an entire world in itself.

[So, what Lelouch and Mao had said was true. How... disappointing. She takes the handkerchief, gingerly, using it to wipe delicately at her face, shaking her hair out in a surtain of damp green stands.]

And, this place, how did I come here?

*a pause, then* There isn't a specific way that one can come in. This City is a nexus of worlds, and for some reason, it pulls in people from all sorts of different worlds. Unfortunately, there's no way out of this place.

No way out?

How annoying.

[She offers him back his handkerchief, folded back neatly, pausing, head cocked and hand to the headset on her ear.]

Anything else?

There is a way out if you're not dead, and if you're not consciously looking for the exit.

*He takes the cloth back and glances back towards the City skyline* You'll find someone who will provide you with a communicator and a guide or two within the City.

I'm Yagami Light. You are?

Then there is a way.

[She glances to the City, but the voices on her frequency... she doesn't know when she'll be making it to that City.]

C.C.

If you're not looking for it.

*he catches her glance, pausing for the briefest of moments before he continues* A pleasure, C.C.

Do you wish to go inside, then?

It seems I will not be going.

[She smiles somewhat oddly, clasping her arms behind her back and looking back a the ocean.]

Will you, perhaps, deliver a message for me, Yagami Light?

*he blinks at her in mild surprise* You're going to stay here?

*he nods, then* Of course. And please, just call me Light.

Someone I know, from a long time ago, wants to see me very badly.

[Mao, and his voice on her headset's frequency, with his childish laugh of happiness.]

There is a young man here in this City now, named Lelouch.

Do you know him- Rather, can you locate him?

I see. *Lelouch? He knows that name. He nods, and looks back at her. So this must be a friend?* Lelouch? Yes. I've spoken with him at length before.

I can find him easily, as long as he's in this City.

[She smiles a little, turning on her heels, wet hair fanning out to watch the ocean waves.]

Would you please tell him I look forward to snow?
