Pregnant w/ stays?

Not 100% sure what's going on in the belly area, but the hiked-up petticoat front says "pregnant."
Also a bonnet/hood? It doesn't exactly fit my mental image of a bonnet since it seems to be going under her chin, but I never pictured a hood as having a separate caul.
Thoughts?
