[ A video entry, he's sitting cross-legged in a wooden chair. His room is very modest, hardly furnished, and he's wearing a dim-coloured shirt with a pelt covering his shoulders instead of his usual safari vest, like some sort of tribal hunter, red marks painted on his cheeks. ]

Well... that was an interesting ride, but I admit I'm glad to see there ( Read more... )

I actually liked this port. We've had some that were far worse, actually.

Around holidays we end up in nice places. Last year at Halloween we ended up in Salem, and then at Christmas we ended up in a German village. The year before that was Christmas in New York.

That's funny, never thought the Admiral was the "holiday spirit" type.

[ He narrows his eyes. ]

That means, if anyone here was from New York - that New York, they'd have a chance to spend Christmas there. Correct?

Unfortunately not. I was living in New York before I came here and I couldn't find my flat. There were other people from different New Yorks that couldn't find their homes either.

And it's more like Christmas time than actual Christmas. Here at Christmas we write letters to Santa and then there's normally a party or ball or food of some sort.

But at least in snows on deck.

[ :\ All sparks of hope of visiting his island, even if it's temporarily, are pretty much gone then. He gives a sympathetic sigh. ]

I see. It must've been disappointing to find that out.

I'm not huge on the celebrations, but snow on deck? That sounds great.

God, that icon is all of the sad. D: thegooddrjones September 23 2011, 02:30:45 UTC
It was. Disappointing, I mean. I suppose it makes sense given how we work outside of time, but it's disappointing nonetheless.

Best thing to do is to have snowball fights, really.

because John is rly various sades of sad. Also, sorry for the enormous delay >.< justareverie September 25 2011, 22:50:20 UTC
Heh. That sounds great - the part on snowball fights. But I have to thank you for saving me the disappointment if we ever got to LA. [ Because at this point, he thinks saying 'back to a magical time-traveling island' would sound weird to a doctor, rather ironically considering your canon :p ]

... has this ship ever wind up in... say, Earth, but-- in another time?

Yes, actually. I know we were here in the 90s, which was quite a bit better than 1913, let me tell you.

But 1913 was when I was travelling with the Doctor.

Before-- this, you mean...? What Doctor?

Yes, before this. Just The Doctor. He's... a Timelord, actually.

And what's a Timelord?

Sorry, a Timelord is an alien who travels in time. I know it sounds completely mad but it's true.

...No, I believe you. There are people from all kinds of worlds and dimensions, here, so why shouldn't you have met an alien?

You've a very good outlook on this whole thing, John. I quite like it.

You think? Well... thanks. [ he narrows his eyes, smiling. ] Can't say I dislike it here. I'm... actually grateful. I suppose it helps, that I've seen some-- unusual-- things back home.
