[ A video entry, he's sitting cross-legged in a wooden chair. His room is very modest, hardly furnished, and he's wearing a dim-coloured shirt with a pelt covering his shoulders instead of his usual safari vest, like some sort of tribal hunter, red marks painted on his cheeks. ]

Well... that was an interesting ride, but I admit I'm glad to see there ( Read more... )

[smiles] I thought maybe it was just me seeing little things of beauty everywhere.

No, but you're probably one of the few.

A shame. Are you one of the few too?

I've enjoyed most of the ports we've been to in one way or another.

I wish I'd been here earlier, if all ports have been as interesting. [ He chuckles a little, at the image of everyone warped into Disney-like chirpiness, and looks away. ] Then again... I imagine this was one of the happier ones.

It was. And believe me, you'll get your shot at more ports.

Part of me wants to see. So bad.

Then again I know this part of me... still has a lot to learn about where he got into.

That part of your deal? I mean, going home?

batmanschmatman September 21 2011, 22:27:49 UTC
Not exactly. I could go home right now if I wanted to. Most wardens can.

[ He gives thought to that in a short pause, dubiously rubbing the corners of his mouth with two fingers. That made his alarm go up for a second, but if he wanted to leave, he'd hardly end up in the place he calls home. "Not exactly" is pretty much the answer he'd have given. Finally rises his eyes to say: ]

I see. Does anybody know what happens to wardens dead in their world, if they just decide to drop this? Can they just go back like that?

[ Pause. ] Not that I'd want to. Just curious.

I'm not sure. My best guess would be that they move on to some kind of afterlife, or they just... stop existing. Probably depending on the physics and metaphysics of their world.

[ He smiles again. ] You know, all the talk about multiple worlds, and dimensions... I thought I wouldn't ever get used to it. And yet it doesn't even sound unreal now.
