So, Friday I went to Santa Cruz to see Dave/The Matches. Got slightly lost driving to Porter, and more lost looking for the dining hall. Badass considering Porter's the college I should know my way around. I was seriously in awe of how good Dave is. Fucking fabulous. I spent half of the time not merching it, which was refreshing, considering how crazy it always is in oakland. Fell in love with Dr. Pepper all over again, saw Nicole and Leah, and started to get the hang of finding things in Santa Cruz. I ended up doing very few of the things I wanted to do there, aside from skee ball and taking pictures in that photo booth thingy. But Santa Cruz always makes me happy.
Saturday was the L3, where I started dressing like a high priced hooker, which I have continued to do for the past few days. I was really glad to see Ryan, Justin, Debbie, Tanner, Toshiko, Nicole and all the other people I see all the time as well. I was NOT glad to not see Erin or Ariel. (Ha, my grammar is so great) Damn Erin's ride to heck!!! Err, Street to Nowhere was really good, and I was proud. Didn't really see suburban legends as usual. And forgot to say hi to what's-his-face (of suburban legends, not the either two) all night. Oh well. The matches were the matches, and then we all went in search of frosties from Wendys, to no avail.
Yesterday was Terry's memorial. Today would have been his 50th birthday. I was sad that I couldn't hang out with Rachel and Ariel, but I was glad I went. It was really nice, and I cried this time. Mostly because Drea spoke, and her crying really caused me to stop biting my lip and just cry for once. We went to Armadillo Willy's after, which was Terry's favorite restaraunt. The good thing that has come out of this is meeting so many great people as well as bonding with the ones I knew before. Anyway, we stayed for about 3 hours, everyone got plastered but me, 'cuz I'm determined to keep my resolution. We salsa-ed to swing, and then the manager somehow found out what happened, came over and gave Gabrielle these free dinner coupons. It's amazing the impression Terry made on people he barely knew.
Today I'm going to wash my dog. Very exciting, no?
