I want to ride my bike?

So I’m trying to talk Lori into going to the dentist this morning. She is shrewd enough to know that whenever she has to do something “bad”, she usually gets to eat out afterwards. I ran through the options hoping that the thought of Perkins Pancakes, or pumpkin pie at Baker Square, would take her mind of seeing the dentist.

ME: “How about Baker Square?”
LORI: “Maybe!”
ME: “How about…. PERKINS!”
LORI: “Maybe!”
Me: “DAIRY QUEEN!?!”
Lori: “Don’t be silly Matt, it’s too healthy!”.

That made me laugh. As did her observation that “Seattle is just one giant parking lot”.

Ah! And I’ve discovered the dark side of public radio. The pledge drives. I love MPR, but this week is pledge week and it’s driving me nuts! Every five minutes it’s “Donate! We do this…. You know you want to!”. WE KNOW YOU WANT MONEY! I would even give money if I had it, just to stop the damn pledge things. Well also because it’s a great station. The music station (89.3) doesn’t have half as many “pledge pep talks” as the news channel (91.1). :(

When does it go back to normal? :(

Back to working on a resume... I ended up not starting the job I accepted last week. It was going to be 2 hours of driving everyday, to do a dead end job that only paid $10 an hour. I can (hopefully) make $10-12 an hour doing data entry etc locally until I can get a "proper job".
