History: Canon up until The Runaway Bride. The AU was created when Donna Noble didn’t start working at HC Clemens, wasn’t imbued with Huon energy and therefore never met the Doctor. He defeated the Racnoss on his own, but didn’t leave the flodding and burning area in time and died. After his death, the TARDIS was found by UNIT and taken to a base of theirs. Rose, still having her TARDIS key, opened the doors r the scientists, who started building interfaces to utilize the TARDIS’ power and cannibalized her technology to construct a crude time machine. The TARDIS, having no reason to defend herself anymore, allowed for all this to happen.
Once she realized they were trying to save the Doctor in another reality (and stop the destruction of the multiverse), she assisted more actively, for example by tracking down when and how the divergence occurred and figuring out that the trickster creature was responsible for it. This whole process took about two years, in which she was slowly dying from both the destruction of her symbiotic relationship with the Doctor as well as the emotional pain and loss of will to live, plus the damage the humans were inflicting on her systems.
She met Donna Noble for the first time after those two years, but had been aware of her importance for much longer, ever since she figured out that Donna was the key component that changed the timeline. She had also detected that Donna was special because timelines converged around her since the day she was born, separate from the trickster creature’s influence.
The final effort of sending Donna back in time massively overloaded the TARDIS’ systems and took almost all the power she had left. Since she had done all she could and her last purpose was fulfilled, she used her remaining energy to dematerialize and head for the TARDIS graveyard.

Psychology: When the Doctor was dying and refusing to regenerate, the TARDIS was in his mind, feeling every second of it. She begged him to return to her, to not give up and leave her. Upon the Doctor’s death, the psychic and symbiotic bond to him was ruptured. This was the most traumatic experience she has ever had to go through and it, along with the following two years spent mourning alone in her own mind, drove her mad.
On the one hand, she is filled with a furious hatred of the Doctor, since she feels betrayed and abandoned by him. He chose to die instead of coming back to her, knowing full well what it would mean for her. She also blames herself for failing to convince him to leave the destruction in time. On the other hand, the loss has made her desperately clingy when she encounters another incarnation of the Doctor and she would risk anything, even the Web of Time, to be his ship again. Any irregularities and paradoxes in the Web cause her discomfort to pain, but she has already experienced the worst that could possibly happen to her, so she simply does not care.
