Yay. My first tutorial. I was just messing around with a bunch of stuff and layer options in Photoshop and came up with something good! Following later today I might make an icon post since I haven't in a while.

Uses Color Balance and Selective Coloring for PS CS2.
Tutorial #1.
1. Start with your base, for this I took a screen cap of Audrina from The Hills. So I'm guessing that maybe screen caps will work better for this tutorial.
2. Make a copy of the base layer, go to >> Filter >> Sharpen >> Sharpen. Then hit Ctrl+F to do the action again. Set the layer to Screen.
3. The layer that you just sharpened and screened, make a copy of that layer. It should already be set to screen.
4. Go to >> Layer >> New Adjustment Layer >> Color Balance. Use these options, making sure the Preserve Luminosity box is checked.
Midtones
+100, +50, 0
Shadows
-20, 0, +50
5. Go to >> Layer >> New Adjustment >> Selective Coloring. Make sure that Method at the bottom is set to relative and use these options.
Reds
+40, +15, +50, 0
Yellows
-50, +15, +55, 0
Blues
+40, 0, 0, 0
Magentas
0, 0, -40, 0
Whites
0, 0, -50, +90
Neutrals
+30, 0, -10, 0
Blacks
0, 0, 0, +90
For those unwilling, or lazy the .asv file can be found
here.
6. Now go to >> Layer >> New Fill Layer >> Solid Color. Set the Mode to Linear Burn and select the color #c5ac8c.
7. Do another Color Balance layer, Layer >> New Adjustment Layer >> Color Balance.
Midtones
-50, 0, -50
Shadows
+20, 0, +30
Highlights
0, 0, +30
8. Now take the layer from step two or three, the screened and sharpened copy of your base, copy it and send it to the top of all the other layers. Set it to Screen at 30%.
And now you have finished my first tutorial! If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me.
