long days
It has been hectic around here in Santa Barbara. The fire was extreme, the entire back hills of this town are black, and it is amazing to me that the fire burned down fences and yet in the back yard of these multi million dollar homes, didn't touch them. Yes, a lot of houses didn't survive, but if mine were one of the only standing in a forest of black and crumbled homes, I don't think I'd rest easy. how sad! The good part is that Aaron's property did get burned, however, only one of the houses didn't make it and one of the barns. Again, the entire property was charred but the houses remain untouched.
I have been working a lot, Lux didn't have school from the evacuation, my husband was with her, then I took off Thursday for a. She didn't have school again b. my eyes were swollen and finally c. my city was on fire and I felt like standing around at work would drive me crazy, it's emotional just as it is physical.
I got together with Pastor Janet today. We had a good talk, I love her wisdom. So I'm off to finish yesterdays journaling and begin todays while Casey is at practice.
