My granddaughter is the in the Brookville High School marching band.
They practice all day in August and every afternoon when school starts. This goes on until the competitions are over in late October. Then they continue to practice some afternoons until the football season is over. That can be the first of December if the football team is lucky enough. The band director is there with them through it all.
Last year, the director was called to active duty. He has been in Iraq since the summer. I am a non-combat veteran of World War II, so I realize that if you are in the Reserves that is a part of your job. What I do not understand is the lack of support that the administration has given him.
My wife and I went to every band competition except for one. We also attended home football games. Not once did they honor him ro dedicate a performance to him.
Recently, the director was home for a short leave. He took time to come to Brookville to see his students.
He went to the winter (politically correct for Christmas concert?) concert. Can you believe no one mentioned that he was there? Does the administration not stand behind him?
They should be ashamed of the way they have treated this man.
Second LTD Bryan Ralls, I want you to know there are people in Virginia that are proud and praying for your safe return.
