Fountain of Youth

Sibyl was a beautiful prophet.
Apollo offered to grant her any wish she wanted, if she made love to him. Scooping up a handful of sand, Sibyl asked to live one year for each grain of sand that she held.

Apollo granted her wish.

But Sibyl refused to make love to him.
As punishment, Apollo gave her long life; but not eternal youth. As Sibyl grew older, she shrank in size, finally becoming so small, she lived in a bottle.

When someone asked Sibyl what she wanted, she would reply:

I have made that same wish more than enough times in my life.
Lucky for me, I don't know any gods or goddesses who could take me literally and swipe me of the one thing I once hated, yet embrace now.
If anything - at this very moment - I think I would wish for long life... combined with eternal youth.
I've found "the one". [Yes, you mock me now. But fifty... ew, no... twenty years from now, we'll all look back at this LJ entry and I'll be screaming "I TOLD YOU SO" in your faces. Yah, that's right. Anyway...]
I've found "the one".  And because of him, I don't want life to end. Ever.
With this thought in mind, I've quit smoking [hallelujah!] and I'm aiming to become a healthier person, just so I can be with him as long as possible [natural accidents aside].

It's rare to find someone like that, isn't it?
I guess I just got darned lucky.
