I was asked to explain these particular ones: england, mewithoutYou, languages, sewing, foreign films, honda fit, vintage decor
england: for the longest time i felt called into ministry in england, God opened the doors, and i spent three months there last summer. i still have british friends that i talk to, and hope to visit them again someday, and possibly go back to the oakes (where i worked), and work again... i'd also like to just go and travel around more. it's always intrigued me that most people's washing machines are in their kitchens... i don't get it.
mewithoutYou: i love this band. they are simply amazing. they played at vfcc in 2001 for a red cross 9/11 benefit show... and then after that, i started listening to more emo/indie/screamo music. i'm changed now. haha.
languages: in high school i gave a girl english lessons in exchange for turkish lessons... it was awesome! i still know that evet means yes. haha... then i learned some hebrew when i lived w/ my friend brooke's aunt (who is not a jew, but is called to jewish ministry... she teaches hebrew classes at shabbat school)... some spanish from high school, and going to mexico... then some sign language... and even some italian that i've been trying to learn. i'd like to learn more greek & hebrew, more italian, and even more sign language... it would be cool to learn more turkish. haha. oooh, and french!
sewing: i love to sew. i made curtains last week for brooke's youth room at church. i feel so peaceful, when i'm staring at fabric and working on a project. it takes long enough to make things that it's not instant gratification... but it doesn't bore me like knitting. haha. i like knitting, but it takes forever and makes my left hand ache, cause of the lack of all of my fingers.
foreign films: i love them. la vida bella (life is beautiful), amelie, anything where i have to read the script at the bottom and get to hear romance in other languages.... so awesome!
(the) honda fit: my dream car. i've built several of them, on honda's site. we'll see if i ever get one!
vintage decor: i love the bold designs of the 70's and stuff, but i also love 1950's stuff... i love thrift store hunting and antique shop hunting...
