my head is spinning, and my hot bath helped a little... but now it's time for me to slow down, get ready for bed, and then try again tomorrow.

so... i'm not feeling much like a youth pastor yet... just a little overwhelmed! i can't wait to meet these teens! God, prepare me, make me ready.

yay, for being women in youth ministry together! i saw that tj reed & steve gagne made a blogger http://fightforageneration.blogspot.com/ together... wouldn't it be awesome to have something for us unmarried women in youth min to start something similar!? with our struggles, victories, growth, etc... anyhow, let me know if you're interested!

as far as my teens go, i've only met a few so far! since my position doesn't officially start until september (the 9th is my introduction to the jr. & sr. high sunday schools)... i've been preparing more of the behind-the-scenes stuff (currently logging all the youth into the youth assistant program that came w/ a youth min. management tools book from the forge)... and planning some activities (cause i have to get ready to take them to a retreat in november)... it's a little awkward, cause it's a united methodist church, so now i have to get used to their programs and variations of stl & convention & stuff like that. wow, this is a long reply!

we should do a something like that. i check out that thing tj and steve do, its pretty cool,so i'd be interested, it'd be neat-o. there is also ymwomen.com a youth specailties thinger, which has some good stuff.

my church is non denom, which rocks, and i guess i am the planner at the moment...

i am trying to plan kick off for oct, but am looking for an awesome venue, one of the beauties of the church plant thing is i have a lot of freedom and don't have the putting out fires of cliques etc, but i have other issues like having 2 teens, and getting them motivated. so yeah. and even longer reply ;)

oh ymwomen.com is amazing! i love it. one of my favorite books is "help, i'm a woman in youth ministry". definitely check that book out, that cd youth thing is AWESOME you can list kids websites (myspace, etc.) cell numbers, if they come regularly, what they like to do, if they're in small groups... everything, even stuff about your volunteers! let me know if you set up a blogger site or whatnot, this could be AWESOME! i love hearing things about women, especially our age, in youth ministry. sweet to hear about your kickoff- you do get a lot of awesome choices for venues & stuff. i got my list of students, there are about 40 teens that come to church or who have parents who do... so we'll see what kind of turnout i have! crazy times!
