With the my beautiful maker
Sometimes I fall
Sometimes I’m a faker
And moment by moment
I’m not what He meant for me to be
But I’m trying so hard
To get there you see
Life has never been
About who is the best
Or who can win
At every game of chess
The most popular one in school
Will surely die someday
She is not eternal
That is to say
We are humans
And sinful people at that
We don’t have infinite lives to live
And people who once had our backs
Will slowly fade
Into the distance of truth
Reality hits
And someday it will hit you
Life does not go on forever
And it won’t always be pom poms and bliss
Not every moment
Will be as wonderful as your first kiss
We often grow old
The second we realize we’re no longer young
When dreams we once had at age 3
Have fallen to ends of our drunken hearts
We get high on life
At an age so young
But from then on out
The job never gets done
We think we’ve got forever
To be whatever we want to be
To get drunk and party
And then when we’re old realize there’s more than weed
But we figure we’ll get to the age of old
And that’s when we can start
Going to church every Sunday
And living apart
From every reality we once thought to be fake
I guess it will take time
To give up our old ways
And pick up each dime
But as for now
We’ll be drunken party fiends
Wander around the town
Living as if we had everything
Reality is we don’t
And it’s only getting shorter
What if you die tomorrow?
Will you have spent your last night in horror?
Or will you make it all it could be
Challenge yourself to everything
Realize you’re worth more than drinking and drugs
See that life is more than a bottle to chug
God has a plan
For every one of us
Yet we keep wasting our lives
As if we’re not worth the fuss
If we weren’t worth His time
He’d have left the cross bare
And not sacrificed
The one who He cared
So deeply about
He turned His back
So we could be forgiven
And make up for our lack
So we could live
Without lust and pain
Sure we screw up
Time and time again
But God didn’t give Jesus
So we could waste every moment in sin
He gave him to show us
That we’re loved deeply and forgiven
We all have a purpose
On this earth we live on
Some of us will choose to aspire
Others will not
But think about this
Before you sip your next drink
God loves you
Way more than you think
His sacrifice was so we could
Have the CHOICE to live
Forever in peace
Or go to hell because we love our sin
So make your choice
To live for God or the drugs
But when you do
Never forget God’s love
It will be there forever
Until your dying day
Never forgot
That He never will leave you astray
Because God has a purpose
For you and me both
Even if you don’t choose it
You are still surrounded in His love
....so choose. you have your whole life, but only God truly knows when you are going to die.
