Ello all.
Last Friday, I went to a party with some friends. It was at this guy's apartment named Jody - he turned out to be a pretty cool guy. There were quite a few people there for it being in an apartment - but it wasn't cramped by any means. Anyway, unlike most of the parties I've been to - there were actually lots of girls around. So I talked to a few, but I knew when I first walked in that I wanted to talk to one in particular.
I introduced myself after watching her do a few beer bongs that would make a frat boy cry. Her name was Leah - and she lived in Rowlett. We talked off and on throughout the night - and I found out a little about her. She was really cool and seemed to be one of the few girls I've ever met that was actually enjoying herself even though there were tons of other girls at the party.
As the night grew on, and the empty bottles filled the apartment - I happened to look up and see Leah in the kitchen talking to this guy (I think his name was James?) that I had met and talked to a few times that night. Bottom line, this guy was being a total jackass. Not rude - just a jackass. Anyway - I look up to see her kissing this guy, whom she had assured me was JUST her friend - and that he even had a girlfriend. So they're kissing pretty hot and heavy in the kitchen - and shortly after they went into Jody's room and closed the door. This bummed me out of course, as I had been pretty interested in her all night, but I was fairly hammered anyway so I just left.
Then, on Monday - I happened to be browsing profiles on Myspace.com - and saw her profile. I messaged her - but didn't think I'd really get a response. But guess what - I got on this morning to check my email before work and I not only had an email back from her on myspace - but she had just gotten online on aim - so we talked for a bit. I found out that she really regretted making out with Mr. Jackass - and she blamed it on the alcohol (doesn't everyone?). Finally, I had to get offline to go to work, and she gave me her number and said she wanted to hang out sometime next week.
Needless to say - I'm stoked. She's really cute, nice, laid-back and fun to hang out with. Wish me luck.
The only other things that have been going on are movies and anime as usual - with the exception of a bit of excercise. Heather and I went swimming this weekend, and yesterday she instructed me on some of the finer points of tennis. Let's just say I have a long road ahead of me in that department. Kaleb's doing well, he's asleep in my bed as I write this - and I found out that I'm going camping on Memorial Day weekend (may 27-29) at Joe Poole Lake with my folks. They rented two lots, so I'm inviting some friends to come camp the weekend with us.
So I think that's about it - leave me some loving comments - and be well.
