I forgot to fill in the reason part of the poll, so I'll just make a comment. :)

I like how the glow of the sun fades off in either direction. And I like how the sun is not in the center of the picture, it's offset a little to the right... and I think the cropping (and the soft edge) really takes away from that effect.

I like the way the extra space frames the rock and sun - togeter they overwhelm the cropped image.
